than
a few. I'm a refugee from the mad, bad 60's

My name is Thomas Utts, but call me ZCap.
That's because I spent 20 years in the military
and retired as zee captain. That included 2
in the Marines and 18 in the Air Force.
Right--another view of those times, in
Korea in 1979. If you're interested,
Check it out. If you don't take too
seriously, it's a funny story.

After the Air Force, I earned a Master's
Degree in Film & Television at San Diego State
University. I also wrote a novel loosely based
on my Air Force experience. It's a military
thriller published by Signet Books. If you'd
like to know more about it, how to obtain
a copy, or about some other books I've
written, go to; KOREA BLUE.
This is
Suzie, my wife of 23 years. Unfortunately, in February 2006, she
lost her
struggle with cancer. When I first posted this page, I said that
since I'd
used an used old photos of myself, it was only fair she gets
equal treatment.
Photo on left is from a few years back -- well, okay,
more than
a few. I took it when we first knew each other. That
time we
parted and went different way. Twelve years later we
hooked
up again and were married ever since. Photo on the
right is
a few years after the other. I'm leaving them up
as a celebration
of her glorious ways and glory days.
When I started KOREA BLUE,
we hadn't met the second time. Suzie was
(and is) the inspiration for
the "girl" in that
book. Ada-syo? (Korean for: Do you
understand?)

Bother Bill's Place .
Photo taken in Vietnam in
1969 when I snuck into the war
from Okinawa to visit Bill, (on
the right). He isn't here any more.
His name is on The Wall. But
he deserves more than
a name etched in stone.

January 2008 -- I have live in San Diego
for nearly 25 year, and when they call it America's
finest city; that is not without good reason. But since I lost
Suzie, my life has lost it's zest. Approaching my 69 birthday
is another reason for my current state of ennui. At least
that my story and I'm sticking with it To combat this
discontent, I've decided to go on the road -- one
more trip around the world, sucking up the last
bennie: Space A. Fine a base, find a flight
and get on. Where's it going? Who
cares? It isn't the destination
that counts, it's the magic.
